Being Creative Makes Me Happy

What are your simple pleasures today

I’ve always loved inspirational quotes and I’m always passing them on, on Facebook. They can be very thought-provoking and uplifting.  Just a sentence or two can just hit the spot and help to raise your vibrations.

Well today I created this little graphic above and let me say it made me very, very happy!  It was quick, easy and simple: even better. I’m going to use it to pass on quotes that I find useful and inspiring and hopefully add some of my own ‘stuff’ too.

I used GIMP a free image creating and editing software programme.

How to get Happy Quickly

Today’s blog is sharp and to the point. No chit chat, no explanations. I’m going to do it too. Let me know if you do and what happens.  I’ll do the same.

  • Write down five things you are really grateful for in your life.
  • Write down five things that you love doing at the moment. Things that make you happy. If you are feeling low at the moment just think about things that have made you happy in the past or that could make you happy if you did them.
  • Plan to do at least one of those things today or tomorrow. Really enjoy it. Think about why you love it and revel in it.  Enjoy! Explore! Appreciate!

1. Out of ten how happy are you right now? 8

2. What ‘little things’ in your life make you happy and why?
My cat – he’s always so available and affectionate and I love his little head-butts; the sky – I love watching it change; my bicycle – gets me away from the computer and out into Nature on a regular basis, and I love the feeling of the air rushing by my ears – freedom!

3. Which particular people in your life make you happy and why?
My husband – he’s so patient and kind, and he loves me anyway, no matter how ‘Yorkshire’ and annoying I’m being; my kids – they never cease to amaze me – where did they come from?!; my closest friends – they’re funny, quirky, they inspire me and frequently remind me to believe in myself; my business peers for their companionship – we’re on the same path, growing ourselves in tandem with growing our businesses, and they never fail to inspire me; my clients for their courage and willingness to dig deep and face the ‘stuff’ (technical term) that’s been holding them back.

4. What do you feel would give you more happiness in your life right now?
The ability to stop and smell the coffee more often.

5. What makes you happy in your current relationships and why?
Being able to relax and feel safe to show up as Who I Really Am – after spending most of my life being Who They Want Me To Be (or more accurately, Who I Think They Want Me To Be)

6. What makes you happy about being a woman and why?
I love how women are really there for each other, cheering each other on and offering mutual support

7. What makes you happy about men and why?
That’s a surprisingly difficult question 🙂 I love the men in my life to bits – and they’re all in touch with their sensitive feminine side. So I guess I love men who have that beautiful balance of masculine and feminine, which makes them available for deep relationships.

8. What would make you more happy in the future and why?
If I could learn how to leverage my time – so I could have more ‘me’ time and spend more time with family and friends.

9. Out of ten how happy are you after answering these questions?
10 – I have so much to feel happy about!

For me, true happiness is an ‘inside-out’ thing – I haven’t always felt this way and I think in our culture we’ve been conditioned to look at it the other way around, i.e. things happen ‘out there’ and I’m happy or unhappy as a result. Now we have new information from the Law of Attraction teachings, everything starts in energy first, and happiness becomes a choice I can make moment-to-moment. I don’t manage to sustain this perspective all the time but I’m working on it and feel blessed to have been given the new information.

The Goddess Experience

I found a great book in a charity shop the other day: The Goddess Experience, written by Gisele Scanlon.  Gisele set about finding and writing about things that she loved and that made her happy.  It’s also a very funny book because she has a witty writing style which I love.  I keep the book in my car and dip into it when I’m ‘hanging about’ for something or other. It makes me laugh, it’s inspiring and interesting.  It’s on my Things I Love list.

Gisele starts the book in Paris and she says,

‘I,  made a pact with myself to start concentrating on a Happy List to be, you know, be grateful, well, no, not grateful, what’s the word, to be more ……. happy.  That’s it! To concentrate on happy stuff and see where it would take me from this moment on.’

Gisele’s book is packed with everthing that makes her happy, including the exact places where these things can be found.  Amongst the hundreds of things she loves are:

  • The word ‘notable’
  • Milky tea
  • Tiny pens and pencils from the shop Styl Honore in Paris
  • Stephen Fry (who doesn’t?)
  • Black Bougie candles from the Hotel Bourg Tibourg

What makes you happy?
Focusing on what you love makes you feel GOOD.  It makes you HAPPY and in the moment.  In terms of the Law of Attraction these great vibrations enable you to attract more positive things into your life.

The Law of Attraction: It All Starts With What you Love

In this world we are all told that we can’t be all ‘ME! ME! ME!’ so somewhere along the line we can learn to forget who we really are and what we really want and need.  When it comes to the Law of Attraction, this is a big, fat no, no.

In order to be happy and satisfied you need to find out exactly what makes your heart sing. And then do lots of it. It’s that simple.

You know sometimes when you reach a goal or get something that you really thought you wanted, and then suddenly it’s not THAT pleasurable? This can be because it was not something you REALLY did want in the first place.

But why would you chase something that you didn’t want?  There are so many influences and expectations around us from the moment we are born.  Expectations and pressure from parents, peers, authority, religion, even marketing.  It can be easy to get lost and confused along the way.

Start your What Makes Me Happy List

Start a list of things you love.  Anything goes as far as this list is concerned.  It can be actual items, things you love doing, things you like to look at, smell, touch, hear, people you love or admire.  Absolutely anything.  It does not have to be anything you have or do now.

Let your mind wander and imagine things that you may love but have never tried.  Relax into it and have fun. Keep adding to it and go back to it whenever something new pops into your mind.  Get in touch with your needs, pleasure and desires.

If you’re half-hearted about something – it does not go on the list
If you’re not sure if you really love it or not – it does not go on the list

In my experience this list WILL get your positive  juices flowing.  In itself it can motivate you towards positive change.  The more you do things that you love, the happier you are and the more good things that come your way. That’s just the way the Law of Attraction works.  Great work if you can get it.  And you can.


Toleration Tuesday: Using Crystals to Clear Negative Beliefs

Hello everyone. This is Leesa from The Crystal Grove and I am here to show you a great way that crystals can enhance your positivity and make you more energetically magnetic.

Lodestone is a naturally magnetic stone which you can use to draw energy to yourself and also draw energy out and away from you, which is what we are going to look at today.

For example if you felt you had some negative beliefs or energy patterns that you now feel you’re ready to let go of lodestone could help you to realise them. This leaves you feeling clearer and more positive which helps your energy to become more positively charged and able attract more of the good stuff in to your life.

One way to use your lodestone for this would be in a simple crystal layout with the inclusion of a natural clear quartz point.

To do the layout grab your lodestone (at least 2cm/1” in size) and clear quartz (at least 5cm/2” long), find a quiet comfy space to lie down and if you like put on some music that you find healing.

Once you are lying down place the clear quartz a little above your head with it pointing towards your feet and place the lodestone a few centimetres (an inch) below your feet.

With eyes closed take a few deep breaths breathing up through your feet up to the top of your head holding the breath for a moment at the top of your head and then breathing out through your feet.

Now imagine that the light of source energy is flowing towards you, flowing through the clear quartz, down through the top of your head filling it and slowly moving down through your body filling every cell down to your feet with light.

As your body fills with light see what you are wanting to release moving ahead of it down towards the lodestone.

Once it reaches your feet see the lodestone taking it out through the soles of your feet and down in to mother earth to be transmuted.

When the light reaches your feet see it going through the lodestone down in to mother earth too.

When you are ready take a few deep breaths, slowly coming back to yourself, feeling where you are lying down and when you are ready open your eyes and have a big stretch.

Setting Your Intentions

Setting your intention for the day is a really simple but powerful tool when you want to work with the Law of Attraction.

I met up with a lovely, gentle and strong friend the other day.  She was worried about how her weekend would go.  I asked her:

What would be your ideal weekend?  What do you want to have happen?

In two very simple sentences she summarized what she wanted.  It was easy and empowering.  Its about saying: This is what I want.  Universe.  I don’t expect anything less.  This is a strong and powerful stance.  Its attractive, its enriching and above all it makes you FEEL good.  This allows the Universe to align with you to make sure it happens.

If you are struggling to know how you really want your day to be ask yourself the following questions:

  • How do I want to feel today?
  • What do I want to have happen today?
  • When I get into my bed tonight and playback the day, what would it look like?

Might be time to set my intentions for the weekend!

  • I want to feel relaxed and have a gentle manifesting energy.
  • I want to clear all my household clutter easily and joyfully.
  • I want to have a feeling of release as I let go of things I don’t need any more and allow them to go to good homes so that people can appreciate them.
  • I want my clutter clear to allow space for the things I want RIGHT NOW to flow into my life
  • I want to appreciate what things have meant to ME as I release them into the universe.
  • I want to sell my items at the car boot sale tomorrow and watch people’s happiness grow as they get their bargains.
  • I want to make at least £200 which I look forward to spending on a moonstone ring and Buddha which I have my eye on.
  • I am also looking forward to entering my £200 total into my Money Manifesting worksheet.

Wow! Just this simple focus on what I want has raised my vibrations and put me into the frame of mind to be able to do just what I want.  I wasn’t expecting to write so much.  I hadn’t set my expectations as high as this UNTIL I started to focus.  Its feels fabulous!  I will let you know how I get on.
